My Earnings from Creative Market with Five Products

First of all – don’t expect that I earned a big amount. Almost 2 years ago, I just decided to make apply to Creative Market as a seller. Good thing, I was accepted right away and I began to put my 5 products- hand-painted water color cliparts there. I’m just glad that there’s no listing fee unlike Etsy.

So I just dumped my 5 products there and left them. No promotion or anything until I forgot about the shop. I just get the occasional email of someone buying a clipart set. I think I didn’t add more or was hesitant to create more products because: maybe I’m not inspired to paint, or I was just disappointed with the art theft that’s happening to others. With people stealing and selling the files in bundles and putting them in Facebook dump groups. And also, lately with the proliferation of AI generated images, many clipart artist sellers were affected.

So, here are the numbers:

The cut was big indeed but anyway, for me it was really a passive form of earning. So, I’m thinking that I should upload more despite my fears. I’ve also applied to Creative Fabrica and waiting for their approval email. I’m also thinking of doing Print on Demand with my original art. I’ll just update this blog when I get something going with any of those ideas.

Start an Etsy Shop in 2024 with 40 Free Listings

I am both an Etsy seller and buyer. The first thing I bought was a post card set from one of my favorite artists (local) back in 2016. After that, I’ve bought cross-stitch patterns, Etsy selling guide(pdf), planners for GoodNotes, invitations, and a lot of cliparts for both personal and commercial use for my own designs. There’s so many cute things I want to buy especially the unique, handmade products. As a seller, my first shop was opened last 2017 and it’s a digital wall art shop. Now, Etsy is already very popular and if you’ve always wanted to open your shop, it’s not too late.

If you’re an artist, a designer, a crafter who wants to open an Etsy shop, it’s time. Aside from the usual creative products, you can also sell your services. There are also other types or model of selling on Etsy such as print on demand. You can use this link to open an Etsy shop and get 40 free listings to help you start. (I will also get 40 free if you sign up with this link.)

Starting a New Blog in 2024.

I used to design and code templates/themes for my personal blogs and then freelance. I’ve build some WordPress sites for clients and worked on small web design projects. Then, I was employed as an educator for several years but after the first year of online classes (pandemic), I’ve decided to leave the profession. I started designing again, as well as blogging and web design. I’ve been out of the loop for about a decade. I’m glad that WordPress is still going strong, though there are so many big changes. I’m currently learning again. I really like Figma for designing. For this blog, I’m glad to find GeneratePress as the first simple theme I can customize. The site is still a bit wonky but I’m still working on improving it.

While learning, I’m going to update this blog about things that interest me – arts, design, Etsy, selling/making money online, Maybe, more along the way. So, see you in the next post.
